Report
They are asking for a sustainability report: example based on the VS
If a customer, bank or public buyer is requesting a sustainability report, this example (prepared with a demo company) helps you understand the structure they expect and the evidence usually requested. The VS is the current EU voluntary standard and the evolution of the former VSME; the example report reflects the 2026 model, based on the VSME. With VeryPyme the report is generated from your reporting-year data: company profile, ESG diagnosis, carbon footprint, climate risks, action plan and evidence. With the Complete pack it is issued (web + PDF) together with the VeryPyme certificate.

SME ESG report model: recommended structure
An SME sustainability report is not meant to “tell everything”. It’s meant to answer what you are likely to be asked by large customers, banks, procurement, or supply chain due diligence. The VS approach is proportional: essentials, backed by evidence, with a realistic improvement plan.
What a VS-aligned report should include
- Cover + company profile (size, sector, scope of the report).
- Methodology (sources, assumptions, proportionality).
- ESG results by topics (what’s in place, gaps and improvements).
- Carbon footprint (Scope 1–2 and, if relevant, Scope 3) + evidence.
- Physical climate risks of your sites and how you manage them.
- Action plan (measures, owners, timelines, follow-up).
- Evidence appendix (documents, bills, policies, records).
How to use this example (and why it matters)
This example clarifies the narrative and order third parties expect: context + methodology first, then results + evidence, and finally an action plan. That makes the report defendable and commercially useful.
Evidence checklist (quick)
- Electricity and fuels (bills/consumption by year).
- Basic internal policies (code of conduct, H&S, etc.).
- Workforce data (headcount, training, turnover if available).
- Key suppliers (and minimum ESG requirements if any).
- Implemented measures (records, contracts, photos where relevant).
Template vs. real report: what truly matters
A “template” can help you start, but the market is looking for traceability: data, assumptions and evidence you can justify. In VeryPyme, the report is prepared from your reporting-year data and the evidence you link.
